Ordering Process

Registration procedures for school catering

To register, parents must sign up on the Metro Kitchen Portal by following this link: https://canteen-lb.metrokitchen-mu.com/en/web/signup



Once signed up, the parents must add their child's name, grade, and ID number. This information is mandatory to ensure accurate and personalised meal distribution. We have designed the system to be flexible enough to accommodate multiple children per parent with a single SignUp. This feature will enable the parent to place orders for all his/her children at the school.

Menu Selection


DAILY DELIGHTS: These are dishes you can buy every day on our online platform or at the point of sale.



SPECIAL SELECTIONS: These are dishes that are only available on a specific date, and the order must be placed within 48 hours.



Limit of one child per order


While placing an order, the parent should proceed to check out and pay for one child at a time as our e-commerce platform can handle one delivery address per order. The delivery address is the corresponding child to which the food will be delivered.


Terms of payment :


  • Meals must be paid at check-out using the online payment facility such as Credit card, Debit card, Juice and Blink payment facilities provided by Peach Payment.
  • Your order will only be processed and taken into account after a successful online payment transaction.



Meal Order changes.

  • Meal Changes: If a student is willing to change a meal or will not be taking a meal on a particular day (e.g., due to absence or school trip), it is important to notify the Food Services Administration at least 6 hours in advance.


How to notify us?


Enter Meal Order Changes as Subject:


  • Changes / Suggestions/ Cancellations *: Provide the menu name and date for which you wish to change. Specify a valid justification for the change.


Please note: If the change is made after the 6 hour deadline, the meal will be charged and no refunds will be given.


Order Cancellation

Meal orders could be cancelled at least 6 hours in advance otherwise, it will be billed to the customer without any refund.


Cancellation Procedure:

Login to the online platform: Log in to your account on the school meal ordering platform. Click on the Contact Us button or follow this link https://canteen-lb.metrokitchen-mu.com/en/contactus.

Enter Meal Cancellation as Subject:


  • Questions / Suggestions/ Cancellations *: Provide the menu name and date for which you wish to cancel. Specify a valid justification for the cancellation.


  • Please note: If the cancellation is made after the 6-hour deadline, the meal will be charged and no refunds will be given.


  • Non-refundable meal charges may apply in the event of late cancellation or unexcused absence.


Credits for unused meals

If the cancellation is made correctly (at least 6 hours prior to the scheduled meal), the amount of the cancelled meal may be credited to a meal at another specified date. No additional payment necessary: If the cancelled amount covers the cost of the next meal, you will not be charged for it, otherwise, the difference in amount will have to be paid via MCB Juice or Bank Wire Transfer with proof of payment sent to support@metrokitchen-mu.com


Allergies/Special order

If you have any allergies or dietary preferences that require modifications to your prepared meal, we are more than happy to assist you. To ensure your needs are met, you can easily notify us through the Contact Us form available on our website.

Refund Policy

Please note that the school does not issue cash refunds for reserved meals, even in the event of the student's absence. Once ordered, items are non-refundable, however, due to valid reasons such as absences due to illness, a credit note can be issued once the cancellation is approved by management. The credit note can be used to order another item.


Order cancellations and Refunds are treated on a case-to-case basis and should be made within the accepted time frame.

Practical tips for parents:

  • Respect registration deadlines to ensure a smooth online ordering experience. Some schools have limited capacity and may close registration after a certain time.
  • Review food options: Ensure that information about food preferences or allergies has been communicated to the management in advance.
  • Track payments: Don't forget to check the payment confirmation status after each transaction to avoid interruption of meal delivery.
